
Tell your doctor if you are sick with vomiting or diarrhea, or if you eat or drink less than usual. Taking Jardiance can make you dehydrated, which could cause you to feel weak or dizzy (especially when you stand up). You should not use Jardiance if you have severe kidney disease or if you are on dialysis, or if you have diabetic ketoacidosis. Stop taking Jardiance and call your doctor at once if you have signs of a serious side effect, such as stomach pain, vomiting, tiredness, or trouble breathing. to improve blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have severe kidney problems (if their eGFR is less than 30 mL/min/1.73 m 2).for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus as it may increase the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (increased ketones in blood or urine) in these patients.adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death.


Jardiance is from the class of medicines called SGLT-2 inhibitors (sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors).

Jardiance should be used together with diet and exercise when prescribed for type 2 diabetes. Jardiance lowers blood glucose levels (HbA1c) by helping the kidney increase the amount of glucose passing into the urine. Jardiance (empagliflozin) is an FDA-approved tablet used to help control blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes in patients aged 10 years and older, and is also used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems in adults with heart failure or cardiovascular disease with type 2 diabetes.
